Meal Packing Event
United Against Hunger is United Way of the Kearney Area's annual meal packing event which will provide meals for people in the Kearney area. The event will take place on October 1st at the Kearney SportsPlex.
This event will ensure that families receive nutritious meals including macaroni and cheese, pasta and oatmeal. Each meal contains all of the nutrition and protein necessary, and the only additional ingredient required is water to make a healthy, wholesome meal. Meals will be distributed to local food pantries including: Jubilee Center, Gibbon Free Pantry, United Way Little Free Pantries, Community Action Mobile Produce Pantries, Gibbon Little Free Pantries, and at CommUNITY Fest.
How can you help fight hunger?
Bring a team of people or sign up on your own! Families are welcome, too.
Together, we will be making bags of macaroni and cheese, pasta and oatmeal which will be assembled into Pantry Packs and distributed to food pantries around Kearney.
Ways to donate
You can help make this event possible by making a monetary donation, donating (two) hotel rooms for our vendor facilitating the event, or providing bottles of water or meals for our volunteers. Contact Savannah@uwka.org for more information.

What is a TABLE CAPTAIN?
A Table Captain is in charge of setting up and overseeing their table. They will arrive early to receive training, and then be responsible to coach their assigned table when volunteers arrive.
Can I sign up a group?
Yes! In fact, we recommend coming with a group of coworkers or friends! When you sign up, sign up at the same station or have one person complete the sign up for everyone in the group.
Can I sign up for more than one shift?
Yes! Absolutely. You are welcome to hang out with us all day if you can!
Where are the Pantry Packs going?
The Pantry Packs will be distributed to local food pantries including Jubilee Center, StoreHouse, Gibbon Free Pantry, United Way Free Little Pantries, and more. In total more than 1200 Pantry Packs will be assembled!
