United Is the Way Everyone Thrives
Every day, many families in Kearney and the surrounding areas face difficult decisions just to survive.
- They are deciding between medication for a sick child or groceries for the week.
- They are deciding between the electricity bill or rent.
- Between gas for their car to get to work or signing their child up for a summer reading program.
These are tough decisions for our hardworking neighbors who rely on our vast network of local nonprofit agencies to assist so that the rent can be paid AND the lights stay on; so that a child can get medication AND the family can have groceries; so a parent can get to work AND the child can get help with reading over the summer.
Many of our local nonprofit agencies rely on the generosity of people like you to help our neighbors across a wide spectrum of services supporting the most basic needs. How do you decide where to help?
Each year, the United Way campaign raises thousands of dollars to help cover these basic needs, deployed through our nonprofit partners. Your gift for the campaign helps with:
- Finding mentors for at-risk children
- Providing food for elderly citizens
- Assisting with rent or utility bills for families in need
- Giving children access to early childhood education
- Access to medical care for those who are uninsured and under-insured
- Keeping children warm in the winter with a nice coat
- And more!
