Dr. Carol Renner and Amber Lewis for Scholarship Fund

Amber Lewis-The Scholarship Fund provides students opportunities to participate in essential development programs like the Summer Reading Institute, the Summer Math Institute, KHS Summer PE, and the PAWS program.  This scholarship fund makes it possible for students to attend other community activities as well. The majority of students who participate in the reading and math programs, as well as PAWS are in need of financial assistance in order to attend.  With scholarship support from the United Way, students are able to receive the necessary funding for participation and ultimately forward public education in our community. Dr. Carol Renner-It’s very troubling to know that there are some children without means to participate in some of the KPS enrichment opportunities offered to all KPS students. United Way steps in and lifts these students up by giving financial scholarships which provides good access to the special learning activities. It helps these kids improve academic skills and builds students’ self-confidence.  These extra activities are life enriching experiences for the students that they will always remember.
