I choose to represent The FRIENDS Program of Kearney as I am passionate about the youth in our community. The FRIENDS Program advocates and supports numerous children through positive one-on-one role modeling. Mentoring programs can be beneficial for youth with a broad range of backgrounds and characteristics. I believe that mentoring helps because it guarantees a young person that there is someone who cares about them. I am blessed to work in the public school system and see the smiles and joy from students who are matched with Big Friends. Research confirms what we know— that mentoring works!
