I chose to represent the Girl Scouts because I believe in the agency. Girl Scouts empowers all women. I participated in Girl Scouts as a young girl and learned various life skills including money management, how to be leader, how to get along with others, and how to be the best me that I could be. Several years later I was asked to come back and become a leader for a brownie troop. That was one of the best and most enlightening experiences of my life. I was honored to be able to teach those same life lessons that I had learned all those years ago, and to learn more about these young women that I knew would grow up to be exceptional women. Girl Scouts helped me become a stronger individual through both experiences. What better program to support than the one that helped me become the woman I am today. I see how active Girl Scouts are in the Kearney area and I know that the dollars that the Girl Scouts receive from the United Way help to provide many more opportunities to girls so that they might have more courage, confidence, and character, to make the world a better place.
