Ensuring Self-Sufficiency
Many families in our region live in or near poverty. Partners such as the Homeless Prevention Program, Jubilee Center, RAFT, and Adult Basic  Education work to stop a downward spiral of homelessness, hunger, and lack of education. Annually United Way helps ensure self sufficiency through the Days of Caring Program--last year over 40 families were served in an effort to winterize homes and reduce heating cost by making homes more energy efficient.
