Back-2-School
Backpack registration begins July 5th and will continue until August 5th. The Kiwanis and United Way volunteers will pack bags on August 15th. Bags will be distributed August 16th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Central Elementary 300 W 24th St.
Each year United Way of the Kearney Area comes together with the Dobytown Kiwanis to provide school supplies to more than 500 hundred area students through the Back-2-School Campaign. Back-2-School Link is a United Way program that collects and distributes school supplies for eligible students from Pre-school through 12th grade in our six county region.
Several organizations offer their support of the program by purchasing the supplies needed. Dobytown Kiwanis, Noon Kiwanis, Golden K Kiwanis and Good Samaritan Hospital Pediatrics Department have all contributed to the success of this program.
Anyone wishing to donate school supplies for the project can deliver them to the United Way of the Kearney Area office at 4009 6th Avenue, Suite 19. Supplies can also be dropped off at our 2nd Annual "Stuff the Bus" event scheduled for July 29th, 30th, and 31st at the Hilltop Mall. View information about Stuff the Bus here.
